LUXList Designer Edition | Ashley Moyer

Ashley Moyer started her interior design career in New York before opening Ashley Moyer Interior Design in her home state of Ohio in 2013. Ashley’s designs combine modern and vintage pieces to create spaces that feel contemporary, refined and self-assured. Mixing color and texture, Ashley blends her designs seamlessly with architectural focal points and within the environment, they are situated – often building upon an object or style her clients are drawn to. We’re excited to showcase her incredible designs and impeccable taste!

Ashley shares her favorite RubyLUX pieces, what design element she can never have enough of and how she finds that constraints can be beneficial in providing creative inspiration and innovation within her interiors.

Describe your design aesthetic in a few words?

My design aesthetic is very whimsical with lots of colors; however, sometimes the lack of color can transform a room into a modern luxurious space. The juxtaposition is also key. Many times, a client will be drawn to a certain style/object and want the entire room to match. It is my job to show the client how mixing different elements in the right way can create the perfect space.

What do you love about using antiques in your designs?

When designing a room, I love to incorporate antiques because they provide soul and warmth to a room. A room with all new furniture can appear to look like you shopped for everything at the same store and lose its designer’s touch.

What inspires you?

Nature, my clients, artisans, and constraints help to inspire my designs every day. Many times, a constraint of a small budget, or decorating around a client’s favorite piece has provided for the most unique and many times my favorite designs.

What can you never have too much of?

Wallpaper, wallpaper, wallpaper… Did I mention wallpaper? 🙂

If you could design for a fictional character who would it be and why?

If I could design for a fictional character, I would choose Harry Potter. Throughout the design process, we would wave our wands and the project would be done in a snap, we would cast a money spell so that we had an endless budget, and nothing would ever be on back order.

Working with existing architectural and design features – Ashley highlights the exposed brick and wooden floors with a muted color palette and a mix of modern and masculine design pieces.
