Winston Link's iconic photographs of steam engines along the Norfolk and Western railway
taken during the late 1950's mark the end of an era in America. These 'fading giants' were
gradually replaced by diesel and electric engines by the early 1960's.
Link's work can be found in museum collections throughout the world.
He is the only photographer in the United States to have a museum devoted to his work.
