This small gem of a contact print by Winston Link documents the vanishing days of steam trains
in the American landscape. These 'fading giants' were gradually replaced by diesel and electric engines by the early 1960's.
Link's work can be found in museum collections throughout the world.
He is the only photographer in the United States to have a museum devoted to his work.
