LCW Occasional Chair by Eames for Herman Miller - image 1 of 2

Iconic LCW Occasional chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller by Evans Production. Modern Sculpted Form of molded Plywood with natural rubber shock mounts to absorb movement. This chair is an early single rubber shock mount chair with early 5-2-5 mounting pattern from 1948.

In the early 1940’s, Charles and Ray Eames experimented with wood-molding techniques that would have profound effects on the design world. The chairs' aesthetic integrity, enduring charm and comfort have earned it recognition as the best of modern design. The smaller dining chair version is in the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art and Time magazine named it the Best Design of the 20th Century.
