An early 20th century, Scandinavian painting of an interior scene of a dining room table set for tea by Danish artist Knud Sinding. The room is in the artist's home on Gothersgade in Copenhagen. Provenance: estate of Knud Sinding. Signed in pencil (on reverse): Knud Sinding and (bottom left): KS and dated.
Knud Sinding studied at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen under the artist Kristian Zarthmann (1843-1917). He traveled to Italy, which influenced his style of painting but his color palette was more inspired by the Scandinavian traditions. He lived and worked in Copenhagen until his death.
