French Chatsworth House Louis Philippe Armorial Tapestry Panel

The antique, 19th century tapestry wall panel is woven with central coat of arms of the Marquis de Boissy (France) and those of Gamba (Italy) flanked by rampant lions, surmounted by a crown and motto Moderatur et Urget, with ribbon suspended Maltese cross, set against a drapery swag pulled into crown shaped knop held with a gold ring, the sides held with tasselled rope ties, all against a crimson ground.
