Two small nicks to the base, otherwise very good condition.
Vally Wieselthier was one of the amazing artists that regulary produced designs for the Wiener Werkstatte from the year 1917. Although Wieselthier is an exception to the other ladies because she also found big international recognition outside the Wiener Werkstatte. Her works are displayed in museums all around the globe, among others also in New York, her adopted place of residence.
This bowl shows two handles in the form of grotesque animals and abstract signs on the sides and the interior of the bowl. The coloring is very maritime with shades of black, brown and an emerald-greenish main color. On the bottom the marks “VW” for Vally Wieselthier, the “WW” for Wiener Werkstatte”, the model number 176 and the “made in Austria” can be found.
