Vally Wieselthier was one of the amazing artists that regulary produced designs for the Wiener Werkstätte from the year 1917. Although Wieselthier is an exception to the other ladies because she also found big international recognition outside the Wiener Werkstätte. Her works are displayed in museums all around the globe, among others also in New York, her adopted place of residence.
This bowl shows a complete floral Design. The colouring is very maritime with shades of black, brown and an emerald-greenish main colour. On the bottom the marks “VW” for Vally Wieselthier, the “WW” for Wiener Werkstätte”, the model number 178 and the “made in Austria” can be found. The genuine blueprint can be found in the Wiener Werkstatte pattern book in the Museum for Applied Arts in Vienna with the number KO-5704.
