Pair of magnificent ice buckets, stamped Argentor.
The Viennese metal works Argentor is among the most important workshops of the Viennese Jugendstil. Being a K. u. K. court deliverer Argentor produced extravagant items of everyday use that are very sought after by collectors all over the world. These buckets combine one of the most successful decoration variants of Loetz with a Secessionist metal mount by Argentor. Some highly respected designers worked for Argentor; among others Jutta Sikka, Baroness Gisela von Falke and Hans Ofner. The designer of these ice buckets has not been identified but the experts concur that these might have been designed by either Jutta Sikka or Gisela von Falke are responsible. The glass body was executed by Meyer’s Neffe in Bohemia.
