Luxury Design, Past & Present
The decoration variant Phenomen Genre 299 „Tricolor“ stands out of the other decoration variants in the time around 1900. Even though the famous “Silberkroselzungen” were used in this decoration, a typical style element of Loetz at that time, the almost geometrical separation of the three colours red, blue and yellow is highly unusual. The decoration variant “Tricolor” has also been verified on drafts by Viennese Designers like Jutta Sikka and Robert Holubetz. At the end of the 19th century the combination of metalwork and glass was highly asked for by the European spending group. Many glass manufacturers produced objects especially ordered by metalwork manufactures for reprocessing purposes. The enterprise Johann Loetz-Witwe Klostermuhle supplied over 100 other firms all over the world, among them the German metalwork F. Van Hauten Son who also manufactured this metal mount.
