Today the viennese architect and arts and crafts designer Otto Prutscher is counted towards the more important Viennese artists of the Wiener Jugendstil. Beeing a pupil of Josef Hoffmann and Franz Matsch he is responsible for many blueprints of the Wiener Werkstätte and of Viennese housing complexes. Objects of the Wiener Kunstgewerbe that were executed after his patterns constantly achive high prices at auction houses around the world and thoses pieces are highly asked for at the art market.

The pattern of this glass dates back to time around 1910, one of the most creative epochs of Prutscher. The use of square shaped ornaments and style elements at the rim of the glass corpus and the stem are typical traits of Prutscher at that time.
