Luxury Design, Past & Present
In the year 1900, the company Johann Loetz-Witwe Klostermuhle achieved their international breakthrough at the Paris World Exhibition with their colourful glass pieces. The decoration variants often bore the working title “Phenomen Gre”. Many variants have been classified without any doubt. However, some still haven’t been categorized since most of the paper patterns of the company’s production between 1901-1903 were destroyed.
This vase shows such an unknown decoration variant and is therefore a real rarity. On this vase the warped threads harmoniously merge into the coloured background gradient, which organically accentuates the shape of the object. Also to be noted is the variety of silver dots, which, alongside the haptic overlays, give the vase a typically secessionist appearance.
