The Viennese architect and Arts & Crafts designer Otto Prutscher is counted to the most important Viennese artists of the Jugendstil. As a pupil of Josef Hoffmann and Franz Matsch, he is responsible for many designs of the Wiener Werkstätte and of Viennese housing complexes. Objects of the Wiener Kunstgewerbe (Arts & Crafts) that were executed based on his designs constantly achieve high prices at auction houses around the world and are highly asked for at the art market.
The design of these glasses dates back to time around 1907, one of the most creative epochs of Prutscher. The use of square shaped ornaments on the cuppa and the stem are typical traits of Prutscher glass works at that time. This pair has a honey-yellow colour and is a highlight in every glass collection.
