Max Ritter von Spaun, the owner of the Loetz glassworks, was most likely inspired by works of Louis Comfort Tiffany when it came to the design element of the applied droplets. These technically sophisticated decorations have their own adornments at Loetz in the form of drawn, iridescent threads.

On this vase, the delicately executed applied droplets underline the dynamics of the twisted and triple impressed glass body. At the same time, they form a counterpoint to the evenly warped, horizontal decor.

The Phenomen Genre 1/4 decor is among the most popular decor variants. Its strong iridescence is particularly effective and makes the elegantly shaped vase shimmer golden yellow.

This object is additionally enhanced by the signature "Loetz Austria" in the polished pontil.
