A terra-cotta group of the imperial children Tsarevitj Alexander Nicolajevitj (1818-1881), (later Tsar Alexander II of Russia) and his sister Maria Nicolajevna (1819-1876) by Eric Gustaf Göthe (1779-1838), signed and dated Göthe f. S Petersburg 1822.

ric Gustaf Göthe was a pupil of Johan Tobias Sergel and was rewarded many medals for his artwork. He had Royal commissions and from other prominent nobles. In 1803 he went to Paris and then Rome where he met Antonio Canova. In 1821 he went to Russia and St Petersburg.
