Poster for the International Colonial Exhibition from Paris 1931, by Jean de la Mézière - image 1 of 7

This poster was designed by Jean de la Mézière for the famous Exposition Coloniale Internationale de Paris 1931. It is an original poster printed by Imprimerie de Vaugirard. This poster is rarely seen.

The Paris Colonial Exhibition was launched following the success of a similar exhibition in London. It was an extraordinary success with more that 33 million tickets sold! It was a way to go round the world in a single day and a way for the French government to promote the French Colonial Empire as a show of power following the London 1924 Colonial Exhibition. A spectacular real size reproduction of the main Angkor Vat temple was the master piece of the exhibition.
It is in good condition with fresh and vivid colors. It is mounted on canvas and framed to ensure stability and protection.
Dimension: 120 x 80cm without frame.
