These rare tie dyed pieces from Halston are true works of art, avidly sought after by museums and collectors worldwide. Halston employed Will and Eileen Richardson, a husband and wife team in Greenwich Village to do the tie dyed pieces. They later won a Coty Award for their work. Their company was called Up Tied and each garment is an individual piece of wearable art. Deep green silk velvet is the background fro the explosive tie dye pattern done in shades of orange, yellow and green. The coat is a classic wrap style with notched lapels, a matching belt and two large patch pockets. It is fully lined in black silk. The outfit includes a matching pair of solid green silk velvet pants. They have an elasticized waistband and a center front zipper. Both pieces are labelled and they are in excellent condition.
