Vintage 1950's 970 sterling silver and onyx necklace designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Antonio Pineda. Beautiful condition with no issues. This design was exhibited in the recent museum exhibit SILVER SEDUCTION: THE ART OF MEXICAN MODERNIST ANTONIO PINEDA and is pictured on p. 133 in the book of the same name. Fully hallmarked with the Antonio crown, 970 for silver content and the eagle stamp 208. Antonio designs are part of the LACMA's permanent 20th century Mexican silver collection. Antonio began his design career as an apprentice to William Spratling.
