Luxury Design, Past & Present
Walnut marquetry bookcase cabinet, the molded cornice issuing from two volutes with leaf carving over the two doors opening to an interior with three fixed shelves and upholstered in off-white linen trimmed with gimp; the lower section with two doors each with fine marquetry panels of a Baroque urn with flowers and birds on a fanciful table, opening to an interior with a fixed shelf upholstered in blue velvet, all on carved paw feet.
The proportions of this gorgeous cabinet give it a light, airy feel. The golden honey color adds to the effect while the interior, which was upholstered in London, gives it a fresh, updated feel. Even the bottoms of the shelves are upholstered and trimmed in gimp.
