The very beautiful and important side table was designed by Robert Oerley, Vienna circa 1905 and executed by Anton Pospischil, Vienna.
Robert Oerley ( 1876 - 1945 ) was an Austrian architect. 1912 he was the president of the Viennese Sezession and furthermore he had many memberships e.g. Hagenbund, German Werkbund, Austrian Werkbund.
Very rare and highest quality Jugendstil side table by Rober Oerley, circa 1905.
This side table was designed for the apartment Dr. Victor Ritter von Bauer, Vienna circa 1905.
The side table consists of various woods like: mahogany, maple tree and spruce.
The corpus pillars on a socket. The side table is designed with typical Jugendstil square elements - inlaid with mahogany and maple tree.
These inlays are on both sides - left and right.
At the front side is a drawer with a square shaped fitting and a pull button, which were made of solid brass.
It is worth to mentioned, that the side table features two storage compartments.
At the top you see an ivory colored glass plate.
The side table is in original condition up to the glass plate, which was exchanged years ago.
Very good original condition with minor signs of age and use.
