Luxury Design, Past & Present
A simply exquisite and unusual opal and diamond ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This fabulous ring has a single oval-shaped cabochon opal stone set in its center. The stone, which is particularly large in size around 20+ carets, is prong set in yellow gold and has simply magnificent color with hues of green, blue, red, orange and yellow. It is surrounded by 22 old Mine Cut diamonds that are belcher set in sterling topped 14kt gold, and have a total weight of 1.50 ct tw. The band, which is made of yellow gold, has a wonderfully ornate carved design with a floral motif and the underside of the band is stamped "14K". The opal stone is absolutely mesmerizing and the ring looks stunning when worn. It would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 7 but could easily be resized. The oval-shaped opal stone, including the diamond border, measures 3/4" at its widest point, a little more than 1" at the tallest point and has a depth of 1/2".
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and sterling topped setting or to the opal stone and all of the diamonds are intact.
