A beautifully rendered painting depicting two lovers embracing on a terrace as musicians and attendants encircle them. The lavishly decorated terrace with numerous details throughout the architectural elements, as well as the landscape beyond the terrace also evoke a sensuous mood as displayed by the central characters of this composition.
Similar in style to another work attributed to Faizullah, this painting has nuances such as the use of light and space which are indicative of the changes occurring at certain courts such as Awadh in the mid to late 18th century.
