A charming mid 19th century bombé form box resting on ball and claw feet. the lid is fitted on the inside and was probably lined to fit tightly into the opening. Finely modeled lion’s head ring handles are fixed to the sides. Punchwork designs ornament the box all the way around, and the lid is engraved with the initials BMP.
