A stylish mirror of very fine quality burl walnut bounded by carved and water gilt edges, the sides with carved pendants of flowers, fruit and acorns. The format was traditionally used over a mantel, but it is a versatile shape that works well over sideboards and other case pieces as well. The mirror plate is attractively speckled. Ca. 1900.
