Luxury Design, Past & Present
An exuberant ca. 1830 ’s confection of carved acanthus scrolls, florets and C-scrolls, the frame “supported” by fanciful scroll “feet.” The arched top of the mirror has an unusual feature- three carved cupped holders for additional decorative elements, one of which now holding a millinery style spray of peacock feather. Age cracks and worming, some chipping and retouch to the gilding, but retains original water gilding throughout. Lots of character.
