A good sized Italian terracotta sculpture of a dog- a spaniel, seated on a plinth, featuring wonderfully detailed and rather extravagantly arrayed fur, the design very much influenced by the tradition of English Staffordshire and American red ware spaniels of the 19th century. The plinth has shallow gadrooning with subtly gilt details. and Signed CB, Italy on the underside. Excellent condition, nice variations in patina. 20th century.
