A rare ca. 1840 reticulated chestnut basket decorated in the Famille Rose, Rose Mandarin pattern with an exquisitely decorated gilt rim bearing detailed floral and butterfly designs. The figures are likewise particularly detailed with gilt highlights throughout the composition. Excellent condition except for loss and restoration to the “ears.” Lumps, retouch at these points.
