A very finely carved ca. 1890’s Régence style sofa or settee painted cream and freshly upholstered in an 18th century style woven upholstery fabric with branches and pheasants. The carving is crisp and very detailed, and the effect is very elegant. Four cabriole legs support the front seat rails festooned with shells, cartouche elements and strap work. Frame has some worming. Good sturdy condition, comfortable, with the springs retied and all inner fill restored.
