A Federal period (around the turn of the fourth quarter of the 18th century) American corner chair with handsome interlaced open back splats and shaped seat rails with ogival arches on all four sides. The construction is pegged and very sturdy, the design visually very well balanced over all. Good antique condition with imperfections typical of age and use. Ball feet are later.
