Constructed in finely planished gilt bronze, rising from octagonal bases; of waisted baluster form, with entrelacs of laurel leaf bands; the dancing Grecian nymphs to the bodies of the vases known as the 'Dancing Hours', with intertwined snake handles, and the domed tops having pine cone finials.
French, Circa 1870
The 'Dancing Hours' was an iconic representation from a room in the Palazzo Borghese in Florence, widely admired and drawn upon by Clodion as well as Josiah Wedgwood.
