Luxury Design, Past & Present
Offered is a pair of antique gilt brass candelabra, with elaborate hanging brass finials all around the tops. Each has two arms with two candle holders per arm. In each candle cup is a removable drip pan, which assists with holding a standard taper candle, and catching dripping wax. The arms are both removable but are not articulated. At the top of each candelabrum is a cast and gilded flower basket. Just below that is a circular row of flowers, each independently attached.
From the scrolled form tops, on what appear to be small hand forged brass hooks, are unusual, long brass finials with flower decorations embossed on them. Behind the finial-like brass hangers is a beaded style body holding scroll form supports (Note that one of those bodies is a little darker than the other near the bottom, as shown in photos.)
Everything appears to be original, and they come from an upscale Bergen County, NJ estate. From the same estate came our Item ID: TOLW1141 (cloisonne vases) and some other items which will be sold in the future.
Condition is very good. They date to about the 1860s, and have some age related wear as seen in the photos. More photos are available if needed.
They each measure approximately 19"H x 17"W x 10"D and hold 4 standard taper candles each.
