Luxury Design, Past & Present
Coveted and sought after by collectors and individuals alike the Padparadscha Sapphire is the rarest of all Sapphires and one of the rarest gemstones on the planet. This connoisseur gemstone is the only Sapphire with it's own unique name. In the Singhalese language the word Padparadscha means "Aquatic Lotus Blossom" to describe the gemstones unique and extraordinary salmon pink orange color and there is no other gemstone that exhibits the same unique and unparalleled color. The center stone in this ring weighs 2.18cts. and is complemented by two shield shaped Diamonds with and estimated weight of .75ct. +/- and is set in a Platinum mounting. It is a sizeable 4 1/2 and is accompanied by a GIA cert stating "No Indications of Heating". It is quite unusual to find Padparadscha Sapphires larger than 2 carats and because this distinct stone weighs 2.18cts. and is unenhanced and not heated it is exceptionally rare. The saturated and intense color of this particular gemstone is truly exquisite. Depending on the light it can look like a warm mysterious smoldering ember or it can show the color and intensity of a blazing sunset! This strikingly beautiful ring would make a passionately romantic engagement ring or can be a symbol of how rare and special the wearer is.
