Luxury Design, Past & Present
For the collector of superb Belle Epoque jewels, this 1.25ct absinthe green emerald and 2.65cttw diamond brooch will just take your breath away. With chunky diamond weight filling out the classic double daisy halo and extending out from the emerald, the brooch features wonderful 14k gold shoulders that give the pin a modernist flare, looking toward the Art Deco period that would follow the Victorian stylistic elements that structure the silhouette of this beautiful pin. The shape and strong lines make this brooch so much more than the sum of its parts; it is a wearable example of decorative arts with historical import, bridging the classic Victorian Belle Epoque with the Deco period, through the use of light metals and beloved gems which were used heavily in both eras. Undoubtedly it was custom made for a very wealthy patron at that time. The brooch comes with authenticity and appraisal paperwork, scans of which are available upon request.
