This is a wonderful and typically Victorian locket pendant. From the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, this charming locket is set with midnight-blue enamel. In the enamel is a pearl-set star. The gentle sheen of the pearls and the warmth of the gold setting beautifully compliment the deep blue of the enamel. To the back of the locket there is a glass compartment, held in which is a lock of hair. This is a romantic and sentimental piece, and an excellent example of early Victorian craftsmanship.
