An early Victorian blue enamel pendant with pearl star motif and locket back, the pendant oval, approximately 42x26mm front decorated with blue enamel with central star motif set with pearls graduating outwards, 15 pearls in total, yellow gold back with central locket compartment, circa 1840, measuring approximately 4.2 x 2.6cm, gross weight 11.5 grams.

Unmarked tested as 18ct gold. The early Victorian pendant is in Very Good condition.

This is a wonderful and typically Victorian locket pendant. From the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, this charming locket is set with midnight-blue enamel. In the enamel is a pearl-set star. The gentle sheen of the pearls and the warmth of the gold setting beautifully compliment the deep blue of the enamel. To the back of the locket there is a glass compartment, held in which is a lock of hair. This is a romantic and sentimental piece, and an excellent example of early Victorian craftsmanship.

Should you choose to make this purchase we would be delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
